James E. Montgomery

Jim of Union Corner, Prince Edward Island, passed away suddenly on January 11th, 2025.

Jim was born in Milltown, New Brunswick, to Clark and Marguerite Montgomery.

Our Jim fiercely loved his family, his pets, all his critters, and his Harley. You’d often find him in his garage, tinkering on his bike, barbecuing, or painting a new sign.

Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marj, daughter Cathy (Marshall) Simmons, son Jimmie, grandchildren Andrew (Stephanie) Chapman and Breagh (William) Alexander, great-grandchildren Lucy and Tristan, his father Clark, dear friends Keir and Gert, numerous loved ones, and cherished friends. Jim was preceded in death by many he loved, especially his mother Marguerite, his mother-in-law Fanny, and his father-in-law Lawrence.

The service will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, St. Eleanor’s, at 11:00 am on Friday, January 17th, with a reception to follow at St. Mary’s Hall in Summerside.

The family asks you to please come as you are, jeans and T-shirts.

Donations in Jim’s memory can be made to St. John’s Anglican Church or the Prince Edward Island Humane Society. No flowers per the family’s request.
