Carl William Waite

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Carl William Waite of Clermont, P.E.I, age 66 years.  His death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Friday, July 15, 2022, with his loving family by his side. Carl was born in Tyne Valley, P.E.I. to his late parents Robert and Mae (nee Winchester) Waite. He leaves behind his deeply devoted wife of 47 years Noreen Waite (nee Murphy) and his beloved daughters Lisa Paynter (Darren Paynter) of Langdon, Alberta; Angela Waite (Allan Gordon) of Toronto, Ontario; and Melanie Waite (Tyler Campbell) of Grahams Road, P.E.I. He will be greatly missed by his adoring grandchildren Samantha (Phil Rudd-Birkenbach), Charley, Nate, Camryn and Frankie, his step grandchildren Katlyn and Ryan, and step great-grandchildren Bennett and Madelynn. He is also survived by his dear siblings Doris Cameron, Roberta Cole, Lloyd (Cheryl) Waite, Raymond Waite, Harold Waite, Lester (Mary) Waite, Jane (Gary) Campbell, Eldon Waite, Kate Waite (Dave McAndrew), Doug Waite, Paul Waite, Thane Waite, and Sheila (Donnie) Mayhew. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother-in-law Urban Murphy (Doris Walsh), sister-in-law Helen (Gordon) Gaudet and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Claude, parents-in-law Roland and Loretta Murphy, sisters-in-law Darlene Waite and Barbara Murphy, his brother-in-law Lee Cameron and his niece, Tracy Cole-Freiwald. 

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude and appreciation to Carl’s dedicated team of doctors and medical professionals at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Toronto General Hospital in Toronto, ON (Dr. Elimova, Dr. Al Duhaiby, Dr. Li, Dr. Yeung, Dr. Saltman, Dr. Berger, Dr. Dube, Dr. Megid, Dr. Mahoney, Tania Rodrigues, Darren Au, Bailey Hill, Gita Singh and Susan Haines), and Dr. Dingwell, Dr. Sharpe and the compassionate nursing teams (Critical Care and Surgical) at the Prince County Hospital in Summerside.

Donations in Carl’s memory may be made to the Prince County Hospital Foundation, the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of P.E.I.
