Sharon Virginia Turnbull Zannier

1942-2023

Sharon Virginia Turnbull Zannier

Peaceful with family & friends beside her she quietly passed on May 2nd at Beach Grove Home, Charlottetown at the age of 80.  She grew up and lived much of her life in Toronto and the greater area until she fell in love with and embraced the Island as her home.

Sharon had a deep love and respect for the power of community, and she was an active member and volunteer in many throughout her life, including Ronald McDonald House, Inner City Angels, PEI Garden Show, DeSable Watershed, Indian River Choir, Victoria Playhouse and Bingo Caller at her local Crapaud Curling Club.

As supporters of local producers, theatre, and artisans, she and Dario rarely missed an opportunity to support and engage with local and visiting artists.  At home, she was an avid gardener, a superb cross-stitcher, and a long-time fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Canadian figure skaters.  She was a life-long dog lover and caring mother to her four-legged Wheatons.

Above all, Sharon had a beautiful gift of telling those around her just how special they were, how talented, how skilled, and how meaningful.  She led her life with her heart and genuine care for others. She loved and was loved for it.

Dario and family would like to express gratitude for the support received through this journey from our extended family and friends, as our partners in care, along with continued support from Arlene Marshall, PEI COACH Program team, and the members of the Beach Grove Home community.  The kindness and care Sharon and her family received is greatly appreciated.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Dario, brother James Turnbull (Linda), sister Laurel Chivers (Ted), brother-in-law Frank Zannier (Gloria), nephew Ian Dalley (Media), nieces Christie Sikorski (Mike), Jahleen Sousa (Paul), Jennifer Zannier, Robyn McBain (James), many caring friends and crumb-collector, Sadie.
