Pauline E. Smith
1929-2020
On May 11, 2020, while surrounded by her family, Pauline Evelyn Smith of Stratford passed into the Lord’s arms and joined her beloved husband, Lyman, in heaven. Pauline was cherished by her daughters, Diane (Gordon Misener) of Dartmouth, Nancy (Kordey Donovan) of Hazelbrook, & Wendy of Stratford. Pauline was born in 1929 in Amherst N.S. to her late parents, Fred & Abigail Jacklin. She came to the Island in 1949 when she married Lyman, a farm boy from Freetown. They worked for many years together on their dairy farm before retiring and moving to Charlottetown in 1997. While in Freetown, Pauline was an active member of the United Church and was well known for her singing voice. Besides her daughters she leaves to mourn, her sister in law, Erma Hogg, brothers in law Gordon, Brian & Kenneth Smith and sister in law Laura Smith who also was her treasured friend since childhood.
Also many nieces and nephews both here and off Island. Besides her parents and husband she was predeceased by her brothers and sisters in law, Art & Daisy Jacklin and Ken & Betty Jacklin. Brothers and sisters in law Morris & Gladys Smith,Elmer K Smith, Denton Hogg, Marjorie & Jim Inglis and Jewel Smith.
A graveside service for friends and family will be held at the family plot at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date. Arrangements entrusted with Davison Funeral Home, Kensington. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Freetown United Church or to a charity of your choice.
